1.Will my pet have its own kennel/ cattery?
We will only accommodate mulitiples in the same kennel/ cattery if the animals are from the same household. We can also offer separate kennels/ catteries for pets from the same household, who require it.
2.Are there reductions for multiple pets?
No. This is not a service Chart Sutton Kennels & Cattery provide. By including reductions in the cost of boarding, we are unable to maintain the standards we take pride in.
3.Will my dog be left in a kennel all day?
No. Exercise is not just important for physical movement. Pets need to relieve themselves and it also gives the chance for the animals to establish a relationship and socialise with staff and other dogs. Dogs are exercised at least twice a day, off lead, in secure grass and paved paddocks where shade and water are available at all times. We can also walk dogs on a lead for those who require more limited exercise, perhaps post operative or infirm.
4.Will my dog be able to meet/ play with other dogs?
Supervised socialisation with other dogs is possible. Individual exercise is the norm unless owners express a wish that their dog likes to socialise and gives us guidance on any conditions they have for this.
5. Do we have to make an appointment to view Chart Sutton Boarding Kennels & Cattery?
No. We welcome you to view Chart Sutton Kennels & Cattery anytime during our open hours. There will always be someone pleased to show you around the kennels, and answer any questions you may have.
6. Will my pet eat while I am away?
Occasionally, any pet might choose not to eat. This may be due to a number of things. The food we use has fresh meat as it's main ingredient,in our experience the most resistant eater soon cannot resist it's new menu. Some may refuse the feed supplied by their owners. This is common as dogs in a pack would be sharing the same food it makes sense then that they may choose to eat what everyone else is eating. We are confident they are settled when fed and exercised and in a regular routine.
7. Will my pet get dirty?
This is not our experience. The accommodation internally is hoovered, mopped, and steam cleaned every day. The external area is scrubbed down with AniGene. This process removes most scent and therefore discourages pets from continuing to foul or mark in their living space.

8. My pet is on medication. Can my pet still board at Chart Sutton Kennels?
This is not a problem. Please speak to kennel staff on arrival or when you are booking your pet/s boarding. This will allow for all concerns to be discussed. A medication sheet will be produced on arrival. This must be checked and signed by the owner. This medication sheet is followed to the letter.
9. My dog has just started her season. Can she still board at Chart Sutton Kennels?
Chart Sutton Kennels follows the Animal Boarding Act 1963. The act states there must be isolation facilities. Our isolation kennels are separate and physically isolated away from the main kennels and cattery. While a dog is in season they will be kept in isolation to prevent other dogs becoming upset by any hormonal smells or any risk of mating. It is not always necessary to isolate a dog for this reason this is mainly after two weeks into the season, when they are ready for mating both parties become more disruptive.
10. Will my pet forget me?
To the pets in our care we become 'the favourite auntie' but we are no replacement for the primary people in their lives. All pets love to visit Chart Sutton Kennels & Cattery, but are also very pleased to see their loved ones.
